The Word of God Discerns

The word of God discerns

What is it with the world of God it will make such an effect on our lives that we even can be set free from depression, anxiety, fear and other things that destroying us? There is one bible verse that explains a little bit how the word works in our lives.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Heb 4:12 KJV)

Here it says that the Bible discern our mind! It discerns what the good thoughts are; those which comes from the spirit, and what is just thinking that comes from us, from our soul.

It is very important when we fight depression, that we start analyze our thinking. When you are depressed the dark thoughts is binding you very hard and you need something strong to cut you loose from that. It does not help that someone gives a hug and tell you that everything will be okay. That will not work. You need something that is stronger than your negative thinking to set you free. You need real help for depressed.

And the word of God is “powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword”. When you read the word of God and listen to it and just let the word dominate you will experience its power to first discern what is truth and what is just lies. But it does not only discern between good and bad, it also cut you loose from the bondage and help you to be free from depression.

That is how it worked for me. I tried to find some emotional health, but I had so much negative thoughts about myself and I was feeling very bad. I meditated on my failures, on the moments when people laughed at me and things like that. I did not understand then that this “meditation”, this dwelling on the bad things actually bound me even tighter to darkness.

The change came when I met the word of God and the word started to show me Gods truth about me, and I had found myself a way to be free from depression!
